SMALL BUSINESS INNOVATION RESEARCH (SBIR)
WTN provides SBIR assistance to small businesses, including start-up companies
at Ohio's Edison Technology Incubators; SBIR Phase II winners; and small,
minority-owned or women-owned businesses. By assisting small businesses with
SBIR opportunities WTN is often able to identify specific needs for technology
transfer assistance.
WTN SBIR assistance is primarily in support of the
Air Force SBIR Program, managed by Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) at
Wright-Patterson AFB. WTN also provides assistance to companies who are
interested in SBIR opportunities offered by other federal agencies (e.g.,
Army, NASA, and Navy). SBIR is designed to stimulate technology research by
small businesses while providing the government with cost-effective technical
and scientific solutions to challenging problems. SBIR also encourages small
businesses to market SBIR technology in the private sector.
