NASA GARRETT MORGAN COMMERCIALIZATION INITIATIVE (GMCI)
The GMCI is a
NASA funded program. It is designed to increase the competitiveness of small,
minority-owned, and woman-owned businesses through NASA expertise, programs,
and technology.
Through GMCI businesses can:
Acquire NASA technology to develop new products or processes, or improve
current products or processes.
Obtain the technical expertise needed to help turn NASA technology into a
new product or technical solution.
Obtain the insight of successful business executives.
Fill gaps in business operations by collaborating with others.
Strengthen the commercialization plan of a Small Business Innovation Research
(SBIR) Phase II proposal.
Investigate NASA programs and procurement opportunities.
Receive marketing assistance for a product based on NASA technology.
GMCI program is managed by the NASA
Glenn Research Center through the Great
Lakes Industrial Technology Center (GLITeC). WTN is partnered with GLITeC to
offer the program to selected companies in southwestern Ohio. Technology
assessments are conducted at each company by a team of business and
technology experts (including WTN, Small Business Development Center, GLITeC, and
NASA representatives). WTN coordinates an action plan for each company.
